Challenge

Arkansas Tourism aimed to educate a new audience about the beauty, adventure, and hidden gems of The Natural State—with the ultimate goal of inspiring travel. Outside Festival, with its crowd of outdoor lovers and adventure seekers, was the perfect setting to make that connection. The challenge: show up in a way that felt seamless within the festival environment while creating a multi-touchpoint experience that built awareness, sparked intrigue, and left attendees curious to explore all that Arkansas has to offer.

The Solution

Groundswell brought the spirit of Arkansas to Outside Fest with a multi-sensory experience that blended discovery, relaxation, and education. 

Guests entered through a dramatic Arkansas-shaped tunnel featuring immersive LED scenes of the state’s stunning landscapes, setting the tone for the journey ahead.

Inside, a cozy lounge offered shade, snacks, and a moment of rest, while the “Sounds of Arkansas” silent disco invited attendees to unwind to ambient nature audio from across the state. 

A scenic photo op and thoughtfully merchandised giveaway station, with QR codes tied to a sweepstake, encouraged content creation and deeper exploration. 

Just outside, a branded charging station extended the experience and drew in new visitors, making Arkansas the destination to visit.
